The titles refer to generic courses, the particular courses are advertised every semester based on the availability and expertise of our permanent and temporary staff. Students wishing to complete the full programme have to amass 40 credits according to the following scheme:

The consultation leads up to writing the programme paper, which is a 25-30 page (50,000 - 60,000n)dissertation on a topic related to Australian Studies. If someone chooses to complete the programme and also write their M.A. thesis in Australian Studies, the programme paper must be different from the thesis. However, the programme paper may be the further development of an aspect of the thesis. The defense of the programme paper is a short oral discussion of it.
